connect a dbf stored in a internet server with samba

Hi,

I access to a remote internet server using samba where I store the files (use \213.21.3.2\files\customer.dbf etc.) but it is quite slow. I have a DSL connection of 2 Mbps and it works fine.

I use DBF and NTX, Harbour 1.1 and FW.7.12. Any suggestions of why is it slow?. Any alternative?.
