You have to call to Disable(), as William has explained you, but do it from the ON INIT clause of the dialog, as from that moment the control has a valid Windows handle:

REDEFINE CHECKBOX oCheck ID 101 OF oDlg 

ACTIVATE DIALOG oDlg ;
   ON INIT oCheck:disable()
