Vista 64 Bit
Posted: Wed Oct 08, 2008 06:06 PM

The last thing I wanted to do was replace a computer ... but ...

I'm looking at a number of computers now. Does anyone have experience with Vista 64 bit, plus FWH and xHarbour Builder ?

Will they work ok ?

Thanks

Tim,

It will work fine, except that it will not run 16 bits applications.

So if you still have some 16 bits applications (remember utilities that you may still use) they will not work on Vista 64.

i.e. Borland Resources Workshop will not work. Clipper.exe will not work, etc.

regards, saludos

Patrick,

You will not believe it, but there are people still using it :-)

Just have a look at the Clipper forums here! :-)

Damiano,

Here you have a list of 32 bits free resources editors to use:

They will work fine in Vista 64

Tim,

Yes, it works great :-)

All 32 bits applications work fine on 64 bits operating systems. The only limitation is that 16 bits apps no longer work.

Anyhow there are some MsDos emulators that are fine to use 16 bits MsDos apps on 64 bits systems.
