Drag and Drop from other programs.

There was some discussion a long time ago about drag and drop from other programs (other than files).
Is there any examples of drag and drop text or links or anything else from programs like Internet Explorer or Word?
I noticed that Otto used a rich text control.

Using RTF control is the only way?
