I want to prevent the end user on closing windows / dialogs when a critical process, like index maintenance, is taking place. I will like to disable the X on the top right corner of the control, and if possible, prevent closing it through Alt-F4. Thank you.

did you try to use VALID option in the ACTIVATE section of Window or DIALOG ?
