Sadly, going to a phone store may be frustrating. Many are clueless about the Windows phone. I had to go to a Microsoft Store to actually find someone with a phone that could actually be run and tested. The one in the store was not even working !
I did check it out, I bought one, and I've been happy ever since. Its the best phone I have ever owned, even if there are not 600,000 junk apps to run on it. However, there are all the apps I need to do what I want, and much better than on any other phone I have seen.

Tim ,
I've had several other devices (dumb phones, iphone, windows mobile, android) , and that the best, most useful I've had. I am very impressed with the integration of the windows 8 too, although still beta. and second tests, even though beta version (CP), it gains in speed of windows 7.

Forgive me for generalising but it seems most of us view Metro as a new desktop. This is understandable as we are all so used of programming with a PC. This was also my immediate response also but there is the wider picture - that of the CLOUD.
I was wondering how FW's socket project fits into this picture and was hoping for a progress report?

Brilliant! There is a pathway for us to follow! What more can one say?
Keep up the good work.
Many Thanks

Antonio, very nice... when we have this?
Right now its all chaos ! Microsoft is really shaking up the whole place by making so many changes.
Those who use all Microsoft tools to program are constantly having to modify their work for the changes.
It sure would be nice to see some central coordination on this, and perhaps a clear statement from the top on the ultimate goal of their new directions. Then everyone could get on board and all paddle in the same direction.
