Using usb devices via RDP
Posted: Fri Oct 24, 2014 03:03 PM

Hello everyone;

I know some here are using RDP to connect various users to the database even with LAN connections where the Win32 executable is running on the host end and where the data also resides. I think Otto is/was using this type of connection extensively. I'd like to test such connection but also need to be able to scan images from a scanner attached to the remote/client workstation; pickup signatures from a signing pad and also print on the client. All these USB devices will be attached to the remote/client workstation.

Is this possible? Is anyone else doing this? What RDP software should I use?

Thank you for help,

Reinaldo.

With Windows Server 2012 you can, but I only read some docs about it, no experience at all...

Dear Reinaldo,

I use AADS (ex-XPUnlimited) at the server site and the client site use RDP. The client can use smartcard reader via USB in Client PC well. You must check checkbox in LOCAL RESOURCE in RDP to locate your USB that will show at server site.
