Hello,

I have a customer who is using my application for many years. Sometimes he uses RDP to login on his server and runs my application just fine.

Last week my customer bought himself an Apple iPad Air 2. He installed a RDP app and tried to use my application through the RDP-connection.

But sometimes (usually after a doubleclick in a browse, but not always) the application hangs completely. Nothing can be done. He has to logoff or he has to kill the application by using the task manager.

The strange thing is that everything runs just fine on a Windows PC using RDP.

Anyone any idea?

Does your app use MDI?
I have had some issues with MDI when child window is maximized and another child window is opened. It was hard to track down because it did not happen very often or to all the users. Screen would look like it started to paint the screen but would lock up. We use Citrix which is actually enhanced terminal services with RDP client. The server would show high cpu usage and we would have to remote into server and terminate application. In the app if the user does not maximize client window there was not problem. Also in the app if I checked to see if was maximized before new client window was opened, I could restore current window, start new client window then re-maximize there would be not problem.

No, the application which is used in RDP on an Apple iPad, is not using MDI.

have you tried to take over the RDP session with another device.
If yes what is the effect.

If I take over the RDP-session with another device, my application is still hanging. The only thing I can do is completely logoff or end my application in the task manager.

But If I use my application running RDP from another PC, I have no problem at all.
