Happy Three Kings!
Posted: Fri Jan 06, 2017 12:19 PM

Hi! Not sure the Three Kings Festivitity meaning has in other cultures, but in Hispanic American culture is a day where "good boys" receive gifts from relatives, remembering the Three Kings adoration to the newborn Jesus.

I'm pretty sure you have been "good boys", so, as a gift, let me say you thanks for all the help I've received over this years and share with all of you something that I think can be useful. I'm opening a project in Bitbucket for THaruPrinter, in some way a 90% replacement for FiveWin's Tprinter class that, using the HaruPdf library as engine, let you to generate pure code pdfs without using nothing more than your program. It doesn't requires anything but including the libraries into your project, it can be used in console programs too.
The readme is written in spanish, I'll try to translate it to english ASAP.

You will find 100% of the code in the BitBucket's project: https://bitbucket.org/carlos_mora/pdfprinter .

Soon I'll add some samples so it will help to use in your programs.

All corrections, sugestions and advices are welcome. Hope your code can benefit from it and improve your work.

Kind regards

Saludos

Here in Italia we called it "Epifania". The character of "Befana" (a sort of good witch), riding her besom, brings the gifts to the good boys. :-)

Thanks for sharing this story. I love hearing about local traditions. My only question ... are there no "good girls"?

At this time of year we celebrate many special holidays. I hope everyone in this forum is blessed with a wonderful time of celebration. The good will of everyone here is wonderful, and I appreciate it.

Haha, it's just my _bad_ english, my apologizes. I don't know how to say "good boys and girls" properly... May be "good kids"? I don't know, it doesnt' sounds usual to my inexpert ear, at least not as usual as "good boys" or "good girls". We the spanish speakers usually make this mistakes because in most cases the male plural is applied when refered to both genders, with the exception of those cases where the nouns are significantly different depending in the gender, like in "damas y caballeros" (ladies and gentlemens). In the case of "kids", translated as "niños" o "chicos", are both correct form of the both gender comprehensive plural.

In italian too. We use "ragazzi" (boys) for "boys" or "boys and girls", while "ragazze" is for "girls".

A complete sample, console mode so you can try what can be done and how to do it:

  • Fast generation
  • Standalone solution, no need of even a sigle DLL or virtual printer required
  • Optional protection with password, owner and user mode.
  • Highly optimized PDF.
  • GUI independent code

The zip contains a complete project for XEdit, and all the required files to build it.
