Anyone has sample code to download email from gmail's imap server?

I just now saw your message. About a year ago I did some testing with an ActiveX component called MailBee that does work with IMAP. I was testing SMTP not IMAP so I can't be of much help with that.

They do have a free 39 day trial. For more info see on this page.

I'm hoping to be able to do so without resorting to a commercial 3rd-party product.

I see that curl now has support for IMAP but I haven't been able to sit down and test it out. Even a solution using POP is ok with me as long I can programmatically check the email's content and process any attachments.
