Microsoft Office need ?

does the conversion function in Excel or converting from Excel to a DBF only work if you have installed the Microsoft Office package?
I ask this because it happened in one of my applications that it was not possible to convert to a PC without an Office or a version of Office starter Kit was installed

Since from 1991/1992 ( fw for clipper Rel. 14.4 - Momos)

I use : FiveWin for Harbour March-April 2024 - Harbour 3.2.0dev (harbour_bcc770_32_20240309) - Bcc7.70 - xMate ver. 1.15.3 - PellesC - mail: silvio[dot]falconi[at]gmail[dot]com

In our application we moved to xlsxWriter for write XLSX files.
Recently we are valutating libXL becasue it allow to modify, create and read XLSX and XLS... and it costs 199$

With com interfaces there is a lot of "random" crashes

Libxl is really great ad its speed is incredible. You'll be very happy using it. Little expense but money spent very well.

FYI, I am creating wrapper for LibXl library and it is almost 80% complete
