WINHOTEL - iPhone-Version released
Posted: Sun Jan 25, 2026 06:04 PM

Hello friends,

Today I’m releasing the iPhone PWA.

Most of the software is built with FiveWin and Harbour. Harbourino, which I use as an editor extension, is written entirely in FiveWin, and the microservice that provides the data is a pure Harbour program.

The frontend is HTML and JavaScript — and best of all, it uses no external libraries. No Bootstrap, no jQuery, just plain vanilla JS.

Best regards,
Otto

Hola Otto buenos dĂas como estas?

Primero felicitarte por tu dedicaciĂłn, sigue adelante.

Una pregunta, el desarrollo funciona como app? o es web?

Saludos

Good morning, Otto.

Would it be possible for you to post a small example of a functional CRUD, where we can see the technologies and techniques used to create a web app, applying the theories, concepts, and knowledge you have been sharing on the forum? It would be very helpful, both for those of us who use frameworks and for those who are starting in the web environment, following your recommendation to work with pure HTML + JS + CSS. The backend would be perfect if it’s in Harbour (Hix or mod_harbour).

Thank you. ... JONSSON RUSSI

Otto buen dia.

Gracias JONSSON RUSSI

Hello Russi, Thanks for your inquiry—it’s absolutely valid. I’m not suggesting an “either/or” approach, but rather showing how you can cleanly use web standards on the front end while keeping the proven Harbour logic in the backend. I think a small, manageable example would be useful—especially to help dispel some of the myths around HTML/JS. Before I finalize anything for public release, I’d love to get your take on my current draft—does it address what you’re looking for? If you have a moment, I can share it privately for your feedback. That way, I can make sure it’s useful for your use case. Best regards Otto
