I use R&R all the time.
To change the data location you need to use a control file. With it you change the database location and name while maintaining the alias.
I also create temporary data files and use the original database name as the alias the report does not show any errors.

I looked at EasyReport and it looked good. However, I already had a great number of legacy reports already done with the R&R designer and its Clipper code generator. This R&R system worked well for me, so I didn't consider changing to EasyReport, though it may be a useful product.

I solved all my report problems using Fast Report and I have converted more then 400 
report to this new system in just 3 weeks.
The biggest feature of Fast Report is (in my opinion) the possibility to exeport all report in Excel, Word, OpenOffice Writer, OpenOffice Calc with a simple mouse click and a FWH class is provided to manage it. It is also self-contained in a single dll.
Samples are availables at www.paritetsoft.ru that is the company that developed the FWH interface.
If you want you can take a look at this video where my distributor explain to customers how the print system runs. It is in italian but you can easy understand seeing the screenshot.

Attention .....
On a "Ministerial Application " at school it use Fast Report with NO succes !!! ....and we have some problems because all reports made with fast report with powerbuilder archives.
What kind of problems did you find ?
I already released my updated apps with Fast Report to (approx) 2,700 customers without problems (at the moment...)
perhaps the reports made bad!!
